Anniversary Present/ Mixedmedia Page/ January Challenges

I am back with another project I created as a present for my dear husband as a anniversary present.

I believe anniversaries are those milestones in any relationship that are meant for reliving your past memories that you spent together. That’s why I have made a tradition where every year on our anniversary I give my husband a present that is handmade by me. During my first year I gifted him a big photo frame with photos of us and our families as he was far away from his family and was missing them. Second year I made a plaque with a quote. Third year a sweet album with photos of us. Finally this year I thought to do something special as it was a 4th milestone in our marriage. I made him a shadow box as shown below:

Ribbon Spool Ornaments/ December Challenges

It’s been a long time since I have posted anything due to my busy work schedule. I have been also busy as many of you might be right now due to Christmas. I love Christmas as it just brings me a lot of joy and of course it’s also time to shop for presents. I love hand made presents thus I not only gift gift sets during this season but also hand made things.

This year I decided to gift some hand made ornaments to my friends and family. Here are some snaps of what I used and how I up-cycled ribbon spools and created beautiful ornaments.

I love to use things that I have on hand or recycle to make them into something beautiful. That not only saves you time but also helps to save money and of course our environment.

Step 1: I covered them using cheese cloth and then went around with string and hemp.

Step 2: I added some homemade texture paste and tinted it with Lindy’s Caribbean Blue Flat Spray and Pink Ladies Pink Flat Spray; then put some wax metallic finish by craftsmart and Decoart.

Step 3: I covered them with some wet pearl embossing and added some clustered embellishments.
